Come on in and have a look around. We’re delighted that you’ve chosen to come to our website and let us show you what we are all about.
Now that you’re here, it’s time to have a good think about what you are looking for, what is suitable for you and what is going to fit your budget. There are a few questions worth asking yourself at this stage and of course we are always here to answer anything that you need some advice on.
Firstly think about the room itself. Is it an area of heavy wear? Is it a room where you will be eating and drinking? Will you be wearing outdoor shoes there at any time? Are young (and not so young!) children likely to be prowling around with glasses of the dreaded Ribena, sticky sweeties or trying to draw you a nice picture on the beautiful new carpet canvas you have thoughtfully put on the floor for them?
The appearance of the carpet is a vital consideration too of course. Think about how you can make the most of your room with great colour combinations and how the natural and your artificial light will affect the look of the carpet. Another consideration is whether you would prefer a neat pinpoint look or you are looking for something more rustic. Do you want something completely plain and stark, something speckled or something with a stripe, small motif or a textured finish.
The feel of the carpet and length of pile is the next consideration. In a heavy wear area you will be better to use a shorter pile, tighter, denser carpet fitted onto a dense underlay. You might want to consider a lovely wool twist or a nice man-made twist if you are concerned about spillages and day to day care.
If you want some luxury underfoot then consider a saxony or long pile carpet with a super cushioned underlay. A lot of the supersoft feeling carpets do not have an overly long pile, yet they feel, look and perform beautifully.
The next thing you need to do is to decide what you can afford to spend. Don’t worry too much about square metre prices at this stage (we will give you a fully fitted price guide on each range on our website) – it’s better to think about what you need from your floorcovering and then let us guide you. We only ever want you to get the best value for your money and we don’t work on commission or push anything onto you that won’t work. Don’t be scared to ask for help – we will always be truthful about what you can realistically expect from a particular floorcovering.
